Webbe's Rock-a-Nore

Our Old Town fish restaurant has one of the shortest ingredient journeys in Britain!
About a minute across the beach from the boats!

We are so pleased to be able to offer you the experience of eating a range of carefully prepared fresh fish dishes from the Hastings & Rye fleets at source.

Opened in the summer of 2009, there can be few restaurants in the country where you could eat fresher fish. Webbes Rockanore is an enviable location opposite the net huts and boats of the historic and picturesque Hastings fishing quarter of The Stade. With fish and seafood caught daily in small boats, and a journey of a minute across the shingle to the kitchen on arrival, this restaurant offers a unique experience for all pockets and tastes.

Webbes Rockanore is a listed building, but we have modernised where we can using guidance from our Environmental advisers, and therefore will operate to the most economical and environmentally friendly methods. Using recycling collections, and water and fuel saving equipment throughout the building, we endeavour to follow good practices where ever possible. Food waste is recycled for Bio fuel. Webbes Rockanore is fitted with an air conditioning, heating and air filtration system which will efficiently cool/heat. We offer USB charging points at some tables

Webbes Rockanore is a totally non-smoking environment.  E-Cigarettes and vaping are not allowed on the premises, or within the barriers for the outside dinning terrace.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at our outside tables when weather is favourable. Owners must take complete responsibility, dogs must be on a lead, and kept under the table.

Due to licensing restrictions alcoholic beverages are only served with food orders.

The tempting taster menu is a great place to start and with a selection of dishes at £3.95 each you could afford to try several.

Other sample dishes include seafood platters, locally smoked fish, Potted Crab, Grilled Dover Sole with Samphire and Winkle Sauce, Steamed Flounder with Mussel and Cider Sauce and classic dishes like Cod in Beer Batter with Hand Cut Chips, Gratinated Native Lobster, Ox Cheek and Oyster Pie. Not forgetting prime cut steaks.

For a special adventure you can even try a Fish Preparation Demo Morning and get hands on Paul Webbe, and choose from the days catch then learn how to prepare it and enjoy the reward of a leisurely lunch afterwards. See Events/Fish Cookery Mornings
