Webbe’s Scallop School - Sensational Sixth Year

Booking has now opened for our famous annual Scallop School in February at the centre of the Rye Scallop Festival. 

Our scallop equivalent of Glastonbury is headed for it’s sensational sixth year when all four storeys of our attractive Edwardian warehouse in Rye, housing Webbe’s Cookery School & Webbe’s at the Fish Café, will once again become a mammoth shrine entirely devoted to satisfying scallop fans with a fantastic range of experiences.

Owner, Executive Chef and seafood champion, Paul Webbe, will lead both our unique hands-on Scallop & Seafood Cookery Days and our Scallop Demonstration Lunches. He has also designed a seven course Special Scallop Menu with Head Chef Matt Drinkwater for our restaurant. You can attend either one or all three of these experiences.                         

Paul says “Nothing beats the scallop that can be caught from Rye Bay and delivered to the door in minutes from the ideal shallow, sheltered bay water with its unique touch of fresh River Rother minerals for good measure”. 

Most restaurants in the town will be serving special scallop dishes at the same time so make it a holiday, book a hotel early and join the fun.
